hello everyone im on fentynal 50mcg and norco for break thru 6 a day if needed.Most days i get by great with what im on until this horrible tooth pain which comes and gos but here lately pain is frequent and bad. They say i have advanced peridontal disese ive never had a problem with my teeth until about 2 years ago now keep in mind ive been to a dentist twice in my life and have always brushed and tryed to take care of them i pull my own because i cant afford to have them pulled 2 years 4 teeth sorry im going on and on guess my questin is why isnt my pain meds helping?? thanks in advance Eric

If this too pain is not what the meds were originally prescribed for it makes sense as the tooth pain is addition, or over and above whatever the original condition is. So with additional pain your existing meds probably will not help , and since you’ve been on that much already, it may be difficult to get enough that will help, unless you have an appointment pending to correct the situation with your mouth . It Has Been 5 Days After Tooth Extraction But Still In Pain: Why

Adults often have tooth extractions, either as a consequence of their dental care neglect causing tooth decay or damage, or it can be in preparation for a specialized procedure, like orthodontics or missing tooth replacement services. The most common tooth getting extracted is the third molar or our wisdom tooth. Immediately after tooth removal, a blood clot normally forms to cover the hole where your tooth has been. This bloody plug covers the internal structure of your gums, including the bone and the nerves previously attached to your tooth. However, sometimes, there is no bloody covering that develops on top of the gums, exposing the nerves and the wound as a whole to external irritants that can cause pain and discomfort. Tooth Ache Taking Amoxicillin For Two Days But Pain Is Getting Worse

ok I have bad teeth. I went finally to the dentist and he said I have an infection in my bone under my bad tooth. I have been referred for removal of the decayed tooth. They prescribed me antibiotics 500mg of amoxicillin three times a day but I can’t sleep, eat, or really think. I am taking ibroprofen and cocodamol regularly. No effect really, I am using clove oil, not that it helps. Anyway I just need to know if this pain will stop anytime soon?

I now have swelling on the inside of my mouth in the roof of my mouth, it hurts to touch.

Should I go to a and e? Is there anything I can do? My dentist is not open till Monday now. He said the antibiotics should work over the weekend but I am scared I won’t make it through the weekend!,!.

Pain After Days Of Wisdom Tooth Extraction

I had 4 Wisdom teeth extracted on 12/3/2012. I initially went to get one tooth extracted due to the impacted tooth causing pain. The oral surgeon talked me into getting 4 extracted I am on day 11 currently and I am in SO. MUCH. PAIN. I have been experiencing pain since about day 5. I had a follow up on 12/10/2012. The oral surgeon looked in my mouth for all of 2 minutes, told me that everything looked fine, and that basically showed me the door. I asked him questions about all of the pain was having and he advised me that I probably clench my teeth when I sleep. I told him I don’t really sleep because of the pain, and he didn’t really say anything…The only extraction site that hurts is the one that the problem tooth was extracted from. The pain actually resembles the same pain I experienced before getting the tooth extracted.I have a very high pain threshold, but I can’t knock this. I take two ibuprofen every 8 hours and It still leaves me basically paralyzed to the point I want to lay in my bed in Fetal Position. Could it be possible that surgeon slacked off on the check up and missed something? Warm water rinses leave me in discomfort. Using the syringe is critical, as food gets stuck in my sockets. When I use it, there is nothing that can stop the intense radiating pain that I feel for the next 30 minutes of my life. I have even tried not using so much pressure while irrigating with the syringe.What should I do?

My dentist took an x-ray of my mouth and found no sign of a tooth abscess, even though when she drilled the infected tooth , there was a foul smell, indicating an abscessed tooth.There is also a swelling below my left jaw, and it is difficult to swallow and open my mouth.The dentist didn’t explain much regarding why the x-Ray didn’t reflect the tooth abscess.
